  • Art Therapy is a form of therapy that involves the creative process of self-expression through art materials like paint, clay, coloured pencils, pastels and much more. This form of therapy allows people to express their emotions, which may be challenging to express verbally, through creative means.

  • No. This is a common misconception and concern when someone hears about Art Therapy. Art Therapy is about the process and journey of getting to the end result and not what it looks like or if the client has any artistic skills.

  • It all begins with an idea. Maybe you Art Therapy is for everyone, and like any therapeutic journey. You just need to find what fits and what makes you feel most comfortable.

  • This task is up to the client to decide what their artwork means. Art therapists are specially trained to look at artwork with curiosity, and to ask questions that may help the client to reflect on what the artwork means to them. The artwork is a starting point for the art therapist and the client to explore together and make connections to the client’s experiences outside of the art therapy sessions.

  • I will provide a list of tools and supplies that you will need. Often times you may already have a lot of what you need already at home.
