Let me first acknowledge how much of a step you have already taken just by coming to this website and checking things out. Asking for help and admitting to ourselves that we need help can be incredibly difficult.
-You have gone to your family doctor or appropriate medical practitioner to seek medical advice and treatment.
-You have gone through a clinical therapeutic journey to seek guidance/ treatment of your anxiety and have done clinical therapeutic work (whether that be medication and/or work with psychologist/psychiatrist).
-Ideally as a client you are are looking to add to skills you have been given through a current or previous clinical therapeutic journey and are looking to expand your self awareness and connect and embrace the messy side of being a perfectly imperfect human.
-You would like to learn more or build skills around self care and self growth/reflection
-My practice of Art Therapy is NOT used as a treatment or substitute for treatment of a Mental illness and I am NOT a Psychotherapist. My practice can be used as a support to other therapeutic work a client is receiving or has received.
-This does not mean you have to be good at art or be an artist. However, you need to feel ready and comfortable with taking on the reflective and creative journey of Art Therapy and being guided into embracing what it is to be a perfectly imperfect human through artistic means.
I am someone who struggles with Generalized Anxiety, so I am constantly adding, adjusting or taking away coping mechanisms
As humans we grow and change everyday, and as we do our coping mechanisms may need to change or be tweaked so we may need to acquire some new skills.
As a Professional Art Therapist I can guide you through Expressive Art and mindful activities that can added to an already existing tool box of skills learned through your previous therapeutic journey that can aid in moments of anxiety, life transitions, stress and burnout.
